Abrasive Blasting Plants
Shot blasting Plants also known as Abrasive or Grit or Sand blasting is a surface preparation method that involves propelling abrasive materials at high velocities onto the surface of a workpiece. This process can also be called sand blasting and is used for cleaning, preparing, and finishing various materials, such as metal, concrete, and stone. The primary goal of shot blasting is to remove contaminants, scale, rust, or old coatings from the surface, creating a clean and roughened profile for further treatment, such as painting, coating, or bonding.
ARIA Shot Blasting plants are designed to suit all applications according to the industry, production rate required and available budgets for the plant.
High velocity grit or shot can be propelled on the surface of the parts in 2 methods namely with blast wheels and with the aid of high pressure compressed air blast pots.
Types of Blasting Plants
Blasting is one of the most important processes in pre-treatment or surface treatment which needs to be undertaken before painting of the parts to remove all the contaminents on nthe surface of the products. The Different types of Blasting plants are given below.
ARIA Shot Blasting Cabinets
A shot blasting cabinet, also known as a blast cabinet or sandblasting cabinet, is an enclosed space designed for conducting shot blasting operations in a controlled environment. It provides a contained area where abrasive materials can be directed at a workpiece to clean, remove rust, scale, or prepare surfaces for further treatment.
Applications for ARIA shot blasting cabinets:
Small job parts of maximum dimensions of 500 x 500 x 500 mm can be treated in cabinet type blasting plants. The applications of this type of blasting plant are mild steel, cast iron parts, stones or rocks etc.
Industries for shot blasting cabinets:
Shot blasting cabinets are commonly used in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, metal fabrication, cast iron parts like pumps and valves Etc.
ARIA Shot Blasting Booths
A shot blasting booth is a large cabinet for operators to enter the cabin and manually shotblast the parts, this type of booth is used for medium to large parts.
They are versatile tools for surface preparation and finishing, providing a controlled and efficient environment for shot blasting operations. ARIA shot blasting booths are used for large parts where turbine blasting is not feasible and manual blasting is required to reach all the intrinsic regions of the job part.
Shot blasting booths are equipped with mechanical equipment of various types to enable efficient surface treatment and provide dust free environment for the operators inside the cabin.
Applications for ARIA shot Blasting Booths:
Large parts which need manual blasting to achieve desired surface quality for finishing industry such as metal products railway wagons, pumps, earth moving equipment, valves etc. ARIA shot blasting booths are custom designed to suit all applications and industries.
Industries for shot blasting booths:
Shot blasting booths are commonly used in Foundries, Automotive Manufacturing, trucks and trailers manufacturing, agricultural equipment manufacturing, electrical cabinets and transformers manufacturing, railway and wagons building, ship & yacht building etc.

Automated shot blasting machines also known as wheelabrator shot blasters are machines equipped with material handling system and best suited for long profiles of metal for blasting.
ARIA Shot Blasting machines are equipped with shot blasting turbines custom designed to fit every application and industry, the material handling system to carry parts inside the cabin are designed as rollers, overhead conveyors or a cabin tumbler depending on the parts to be shot blasted.
Applications for ARIA shot Blasting Booths:
Long parts which need uniform surface treatment with high volume of production required are best suited for Shot blasting machines, applications of ARIA shot blasting machines include scaffold blasting machines, Billet blasting machines, I BEAMS and sections blasting machines, Ammunition casing blasting machines etc.
Industries for shot blasting booths:
ARIA Shot blasting machines are commonly used in Foundries, Automotive Manufacturing, trucks and trailers manufacturing, agricultural equipment manufacturing, electrical cabinets and transformers manufacturing, railway and wagons building, ship & yacht building etc. where in a continuous production of high volume is required.
Variations in Shot Blasting Plants
Based on mechanical or construction based variation ARIA shot blasting plants are offered in below different setups.Aria Shot blasting plants are designed to fit all applications and depending upon the production rate required and budgets of the client can have variations as below:
Mechanical Based Variations
ARIA Shot blasting plants can be equipped with manual recovery systems, semi-automatic recovery systems or fully automatic recovery systems.
A recovery system is to collect all the abrasive media used for blasting and scattered inside the cabin of the booth and transfer it back to the blast pot or the blast wheel turbines. This process is time consuming and can be completely automated for increasing efficiency of the plant. In a semi-automatic system, A floor pit is made in one corner of the cabin and the operators must sweep all the abrasive media to this pit, once the media is collected in a pit it is transferred to the Blast pot or blast wheel turbines with the aid of bucket elevators. In an automatic recovery system floor scrapers or industrial vacuums are used to transfer all abrasive media to the bucket elevators and no manual sweeping is required.
A dust collection system also known as dust extraction system can be equipped with cartridge type dust collectors or baghouse dust collectors for efficient dust extraction and visibility inside the cabin of the Shot blasting plants.
The blast wheel and blast pot sizes can vary depending on application and the surface to be cleaned, ARIA shot blasting plants offer 5 to 24 m3 of shot blasting pots and 28 KW to 75 KW blast wheel turbine to suit all applications.
Construction Based Variations
The Basic variation in construction is for 3 different types of cabins and operations of any ARIA shot blasting plants, We offer civil pits for automatic recovery and complete civil works drawing submission to be undertaken by the client before delivery of equipment. The wear plates used are high wear resistant metal to allow for 12000 hours life span.
